There are many ways to make money in e-gold. One of the most tried ways is to take part in HYIP programs. These are basicly all scams like Ponzi schemes, gifting programs and such.
Some of them last as long as 12 months, but the vast majority are gone in less than 2 weeks. The only people who make anything from HYIP's that last only a short time are those lucky people who join in the first or second day.
The one person who definately can't lose is the market maker who converts your real money into egold. He makes between 2% and 4% on every dollar he converts into ecurrency.
You can use e-gold to fund a Forex trading account at Marketiva, this is a broker who will give you $5 to start trading with on opening your account with them. That being said, I don't think I would actually use them for any more than the $5 they give me.
